School Uniform Policy
Makakilo Elementary School implemented a School Uniform Policy with the belief that it will cree a positive, safe learning environment.  Our School Community Council (SCC) believes this policy will address our students' appearance, appropriateness of satire, school identity, safety and most importantly, school pride.
Our school's expectation is that all of our students will be required to wear their school uniform (current or past) everyday except on Wednesdays, which has been designated as "Wash Wednesday".  Uniforms are optional on Wash Wednesday as it gives families time to wash their uniforms for the remainder of the week.
On occasion, special designated days will be considered "optional" uniform days.  Examples of these designated days are for picture taking , drug free activities, spirit week or those designated by the Principal.
We also have a Uniform Exchange/Donation Program where parents may turn in gently used uniform t-shirts to the Health Room and pick up sizes that are a better fit for their child.
The School Uniform Policy is in accordance with the Department of Education Policy 4410.
